Not Energy Efficient

Updated garage doors can be purchased with insulation and  thicker materials which help regulate garage temperatures better than their hollow predecessors. Keep heating costs down in the winter and cooling cost down in the summer by installing an insulated garage door.

Chipping Paint, or Rust on the Panels

Metal garage doors are often painted with a weather-resistant coating which keeps rust at bay. If you notice chipped paint or excessive rust, your steel door could be structurally compromised. Garage doors should not be re-painted, as hidden damage could lead to larger problems in the future. 

Rotting Wood or Lack of Structural Integrity

Like all exterior wood construction, wooden garage doors are subject to rot. Moisture collecting and rotting out structural parts of the door cannot be repaired and must be replaced. Heavy wooden doors can cause massive damage to cars, and other areas of your garage if it falls.

Outdated Apperance
